Specialist Roof Shading
Large expanses of roof glazing are beyond the scope of the average roof blind and require the installation of more specialist products if a satisfactory, long-term solution is to be achieved. With a selection of high quality, performance systems, VBS UK is able to offer an answer to the control of solar heat gain and glare through glazed roof structures, combined with easy operation.
- Techtonic Non-Retractable Roofshades - this system has been specifically designed for roof applications, both internal and external, although coverage of vertical or sloping areas of glass is also feasible. Awkward shapes are easily and elegantly shaded with the Techtonic blind. With its base of aluminium rack arms, the venetian slatting (which may be aluminium or timber) is well supported across large areas, obviating any sagging, and multiple units may be connected to operate together by a single drive bar. Once installed, the fully adjustable louvres provide total control over solar heat gain and glare through manual or electric operation. Whole roof structures can be adjusted at the touch of a button and motors can also be connected via an interface to answer to the computerised commands of building management systems. This is a robust, virtually maintenance free product for long-term use.
- Goelst 6500/6600/6602 - G-Rail skylight system 6500 features all the benefits of standard G-Rail low voltage (24V) electric motor technology. With integrated "CAN-BUS" intelligence for stand alone installations, system 6500 offers compatibility with most home automation control systems. Ease of operation is performed using infrared control, switch or optional radio control. Suitable for horizontal, curved and sloping glazing situations including atrium roofs, conservatories, etc., system 6500 is particularly suited to sunscreen fabrics for effective solar/thermal control. Systems 6600 and 6602 are designed specifically for smaller openings or lighter weight fabrics - on straight applications only.
- Goelst 6700 - G-6700 is a powerful, electrically operated blind system for skylights and horizontally glazed openings. Featuring all the benefits of G-Rail low Voltage (24V) electric motor technology, system 6700 has built-in G-Rail CAN BUS intelligence allowing cooperation with most home automation systems. Using special aluminium profiles, without any intermediate supports, openings up to 4 metres wide can be covered whilst maintaining the light, open atmosphere of skylights and glazed roofs. The perfect system to provide shading and control of solar glare.

Free quotation and brochure The Cayman roof blind is the perfect solution to keep your conservatory cool. Mounted to the top of your conservatory it stops the suns heat before it reaches the glass and therefore ensures your conservatory remains at a comfortable temperature all year round.Slim lateral guides support the full cassette headbox which protects the fabric from all types of inclement weather when closed away. An air gap between the lateral guides and your conservatory roof ensure there is no heat build up under the blind. Hi-tech cables run through the lateral guides and into the front rail where they are tensioned via a heavy duty double coiled spring to ensure the fabric is perfectly taut at every position. The front rail is located in the lateral guides which ensures the roof blind opens and closes smoothly and stops any swaying of the material. There are various mounting supports available allowing the Cayman to either be fitted directly to the top of your conservatory roof, to an adjacent wall or to the side of your conservatory roof. There are even height adjustable supports available for overcoming roof vents.
